On Monday, January 15th, 2018, Darwood Dobie, husband, father, brother and friend lost his short but courageous battle with cancer at the age of 69.
Born to Tom and Vivian Dobie of Nanaimo, BC on December 3rd, 1948, he made an impression on everyone who met him - from his childhood days at his family's Dobie Grocery Store on Waddington Rd. to the 30+ years he spent with his wife and children in Prince George, BC.
His greatest accomplishment though was the moment he married his wife Diane and began their life together. He was a friend to everyone he met and always had a smile ready for all who needed it but was truly at his best as a husband and father.
Darwood is survived by his wife of 47 years Diane and his two children, Jennifer and Blake (Gordon) as well as many dear friends and relatives.
A celebration of life will take place at the Lantzville Legion on Monday, January 22nd at 1:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Darwood's name to either the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 257 or The BC Cancer Society.
