Darrell White (Booty), 64 years of age, passed away on Friday, January 17, 2025, at North Island Hospital in Comox, B.C.
His biggest passions in life were his family, friends, and fishing.
He is survived by his two daughters, Jennifer White and Pamela White; three granddaughters, Georgia Engevik, Rylee Fraser, Karisa Fraser; one grandson, Auston Wheat; and one great-grand-daughter, Harper Engevik.
Darrell was born on September 4, 1960, in Glace Bay, Nova Scotia, to the late James and Jacqueline (Jackie) White. He was one of four siblings: sister Janet (Billie) MacPherson and his late sister was Linda (Joey) Shaw and late brother Glenn (Diane) White.
He married Karen McAdam on May 19, 1979. He was a happy and proud coal miner in both Coleman and Grand Cache. In 1984, he moved to Nanaimo, B.C. He survived the Wolf Mountain accident in February 1985. Darrell owned and operated Hook Line and Sinker Tackle and Marina from 1989 to 1991. He managed Van Isle Traffic Services until 2003, when an impaired driver hit him. He settled in Black Creek, B.C., in 2009 with his dearest friend, Howard Campbell. In his last year, he lived in Comox, B.C.
Through pure strength, resilience, and love, he lived life to the fullest. Despite his injuries, he never missed a beat. Darrell was a legend, one of a kind, a truly genuine soul. His love for all was unconditional, and his generosity knew no limits. His love will forever be imprinted in our hearts.
A Celebration of Life will be held in Black Creek, B.C., on August 30, 2025.
