ENSLOW (nee Baxter), Darlene Rebecca

October 11, 1948 - April 5, 2007

We are heartbroken to announce that Darlene passed away gracefully while she was surrounded by family and love. She succumbed to cancer after a long and brave fight. Her positive attitude carried her through her illness with dignity and was the key factor that allowed her to remain with her friends and family beyond all odds and diagnoses. Darlene had many talents and during her time here on Earth had worked as a nurse, cashier supervisor, and school teacher. She loved flowers and nature and spent many peaceful hours working in her garden with just the sun and the birds for company. Darlene was respected by friends, family and co-workers and was known by all for her bubbly spirit and her kind and caring nature. She is predeceased by her father Walter, and is survived by her faithful daughters Kim (Tony) and Lisa (Tash). Her grandchildren Haden, Riley, Phelan, Nolan and Amelia, also survived by her mother Genevieve, her sisters Roxanne (Andy) and Dawn (Ron), her brother Walter (Gayle), and her many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, friends and her dog, Lola. Although this is a sad time for all that knew Darlene, the family would like you to share in a celebration of her life on Saturday, April 14th at the Lantzville Community Hall, from 12 - 2 p.m. Darlene’s family has been supported by many family members and friends and would like to say thank you. As well, they would like to extend their deep gratitude to Dr. Davies in Nanaimo and Dr. Souliere in Victoria as their care gave Darlene lots of confidence and comfort as she fought her illness. Donations can be made in her honour to the BC Cancer Society.

I know how much you love me, As much as I love you.

And each time that you think of me, I know you’ll miss me too;

But when tomorrow starts without me, Please try to understand,

That an angel came and called my name, And took me by the hand,

And said my place was ready, In heaven far above . . . .
