Born in Johannesburg, South Africa to Cecil and Hilda Brooks. Pamela, as she was known to most, was their only child and cherished.

She led a very interesting life as a Nurse, Artist and a Tea Leaf Reader. Her fondest role was in that of a Mother to her beloved sons Christopher and Philip.

She immigrated to Canada in 1979 to be with her son Chris and her Grandchildren. Pamela lived for 35 years in Buttertubs Marsh, and lovingly considered it "her marsh". Many days were spent walking the trails and feeding and talking to the animals that called it home. Known for her bright apparel, she fit in well with her birds.

She had a joy for the small things in life, and could notice the difference in a pebble, or the colors in a feather. And of course she loved a good beer (or a few).

Pamela ws an avid writer. Her entire life she kept a daily journal entry and she was a pen pal to hundreds worldwide. In her 70's she wrote a book on her life story. Called "Moo", she was an active Grandma and often encouraged artistic and flamboyant projects and paths. Later in life she became Nanny to many.

Pamela is predeceased by her son Philip. She leaves behind her son Christopher Venter and daughter-in-law Vera. Her grandchildren Phillip Ventor (Melissa) and Natacha Rushton (Jeffrey), 4 great grandchildren, as well as many step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. She lived a quiet life, but lived it loud.

"Death heaves a heartache no one can heal; Love leaves a memory no one can steal."
