CLINTON MILES CAMPBELL

May 16, 2008

Campbell, Clinton Miles

Born Oct. 5, 1934 • Died May 16, 2008

We are sad to tell you that he has made his last trip of the day and has parked his rig for the last time.

Clint passed away on May 16, 2008 at Dufferin Place after a courageous and lengthy battle with a bacteria that he couldn’t shake.

He will be sadly missed by his wife, Pat Piercy and his children Lee Campbell (Terry Lynne) of Nanaimo, Laurie Krall (Dave) of Cassidy, Glenda Ball (Ted) of Roberts Creek. His brother Bruce and his sister Joanne Barker. He was predeceased by his first wife Loretta Griffiths Campbell, his sister June Campbell, his son Wayne Campbell and his mother Ann Campbell. He will also be missed by his step children, Deborah and Laird Carruthers, Cherie Benedict and Terry Town, Bruce and Dianne Benedict. He and Pat had many grandchildren Miles, Tara, Sean, Dustin Ashley, Eric, Matt, Mike, David, Jordan, Kelly, Jessica, Shaun, Brook, Shelby, Kim, Kali, Lauren, Reid and three great grandsons, Zack and Liam Rowland, and Benjamine Samogras.

He started out trucking with his father and then to Hub City for a few years. He bought his own gravel truck in 1977 and began his company known as L & L Campbell Trucking. He loved driving and spent almost all day either on the cell phone or the CB talking to his many trucking friends.

He finally sold his last truck in 2001 with the idea of retiring but soon was being asked by other tuckers to drive for them... and before he knew it he was back to work. In 2004 he started with Sharecost Rentals on a part time basis and worked every other week.

He will also be greatly missed by all the truckers that he knew up and down the Island. We know that you have missed him chattering on the cb. He was doing what he loved the most up until he became ill last fall.

We hope that all his many family and friends will join us in a celebration of his life to be held at 1:00 pm, Sat May 24, 2008 at the South Wellington Community Hall.

In lieu of flowers, we would ask that you make a donation to the Nanaimo SPCA.
