August 10, 1931 - December 10, 2018
Clint passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018 after a brief struggle with stomach cancer. In his final hours, during a period of lucidity, he said goodbye to his wife and family. This final gift was emblematic of the man we all knew and strive to be: generous, devoted, full of love and laughter.

From 1960 to 1988, Clint had a distinguished career with the Department of National Defense (DND) as a research scientist followed by a five-year posting with NATO at La Spezia in Italy. After retiring on the island in Nanaimo, he continued his research and writings while also taking time to travel the world.

He is survived and dearly missed by his loving wife of 59 years, Juanita "Nita" Unwin, his three children Bonny Briggs (Tom) Brian (Annette) and Garth Unwin (Diane Schmidt), sister Lorena Taylor, grandchildren Coryn Pawliw, Christopher Briggs, Eric Auger, Krystal Unwin, and Caryn Briggs, and four great grandchildren, along with his many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
