Clare M. Carter

October 17, 1927 - September 14, 2017

Clare passed away peacefully at home one month shy of her 90th birthday after a long battle with cancer.

She is survived by her loving husband Jack, sons John (Sandi), Ralph (Kim) and Derek (Ivana); Grandaughters Lauren (Dana) and Alison, and Great Grandson Andrew.

Born near Regina she was moved to her grandparent's home in London just before WWII. During the war she was evacuated to the North with her family and ultimately met Jack, the love of her life, with whom she spent the next 69+ years.

Clare moved to Nanaimo with her family in 1966 where she worked as a Practical Nurse at NRGH for 22 years. She was also a Life member and past President of the Ladies Auxiliary Branch 256 and 257.

She was a keen Bridge and Cribbage player who also enjoyed a night at the casino.

Clare will be sorely missed by all who knew her.

May she Rest in Peace.

At the request of the family there will be no memorial service.
