Christine Thomas

October 26th, 1922 • December 14th, 2010

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our loving mother, Christine Thomas, on the 14th day of December 2010.

Christine was born in Regina, Saskatchewan, October 26, 1922. She was the sixth of eleven children. In 1945 she married George Henry Thomas and they shared 55 years before her husband’s passing in 2000. Despite her many health issues over the years, Christine was always happy and content at home playing crib and solitaire, or knitting and baking for friends and family, who loved her dearly. She grew very fond of the many Home Care workers who visited regularly during the past ten years. She is survived by her boys: Bob, Dan and Tom; daughters-in-law, Sharon and Elizabeth; her eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

A heartfelt thank you to those wonderful care workers and Nurse Dawn, who took such good care of Mom, and the special nurses on floor 5 of NRGH.

There will be a service at First Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1720 Bowen Rd., Wednesday, December 22nd at 1:30p.m. We invite all who knew our special Mom to partake in this brief celebration of her life. She will be interred next to her husband at Port Alberni Memorial Park.

“To one who bears the sweetest name,

And adds luster to the same,

Long life to her for there’s no other,

Who takes the place of our dear Mother.”

In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to the Nanaimo Hospice Society in her name.
