It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Cheryl at Nanaimo Regional Hospital on November 28th, 2022.
She is survived by her husband Tony; daughters Danielle Jorgensen and Amanda Oakes; grandchildren Elliott and Sydney Jorgensen, and her brothers Dr. Steve Roberts and David Roberts.
Cheryl had an extensive and varied career over her lifetime ranging from scientific work as a lab technician in numerous fields to retail sales. She excelled at everything she chose to do.
She was an avid reader, and also enjoyed writing, painting, and completing the New York Times crossword. She was a fabulous cook, and always enjoyed putting on a huge spread for the whole family to be together and celebrate at every holiday.
Cheryl loved exploring the outdoors through camping, hiking and sailing, and enjoyed travelling. She loved her garden and the birds at the feeders.
One of her favorite things was to get a coffee and sit by the ocean and watch the wildlife and the world go by for an hour or two.
Undoubtedly her greatest love was for her family and friends, and she showed this by her unwavering devotion to them. She had been a caregiver to her grandmother and mother, as well as a homemaker for her family.
Family was everything to her, she was an incredibly generous, supportive, warm and loving individual, who wished for nothing but the best for all the special people in her life. She was our rock and foundation, we will miss her with all our hearts.
