Born in Leask, Saskatchewan, on November 14, 1914 passed away, peacefully, on April 15, 2004 at the age of 89. After moving to Nanaimo in 1948 he became involved with various groups including: The Nanaimo Curling Club, Horticultural Society, Travelling Squares Square Dance Club and Bowen Park Seniors. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Peggy, his brothers Joe, John, George and his sisters Mary, Angeline, and Stella. He leaves behind his son Garth (Joanne) Verbonac, his granddaughter Amanda (Chris) Langford and grandson Matthew Verbonac; his brothers Ed (Edna) Verbonac, Ernie (Gaby) Verbonac and sister Eileen (Don) Bolton; numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation and viewing will be Friday, April 23, 2004 from 7-9pm at First Memorial Funeral Services 1720 Bowen Road, Nanaimo, BC. Funeral services will be held at St. James Anglican Church, 2150 Departure Bay Road, Nanaimo, BC, on Saturday, April 24th at 2:30pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the charity of your choice.
