Our dear father, grandfather, and great grandfather passed away peacefully with his family at his side, just four months after the death of his loving wife of 72 years, Ellie. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Chuck was predeceased by his son, Pat, and daughter-in-law, Sidney. He is survived by his daughter, Cherie; his grandchildren, Janet (Colin) Cook, Ehren (Emily) Madill, Paul (Rae Lyn) Hennessy, Adrienne (Mark) Guinn, Seann (Jenn) Madill, and Wayne (Bridget) Hennessy; as well as his eleven great grandchildren. Chuck was well known for his big smile and his generous heart. He and Ellie made everyone feel welcome, loved, and very special. Chuck was born and lived in Nanaimo all his life. He was a successful Nanaimo businessman and a member of the Nanaimo Harbour Commission, Nanaimo Yacht Club, Nanaimo Golf Club, and Nanaimo Gyro Club. A private celebration of life will be held for both Chuck and Ellie. The family would like to thank the nurses and care aides from Island Health and Nurse Next Door for their wonderful care and compassion. Flowers gratefully declined. Please consider making a donation in memory of Chuck to: Nanaimo Child Development Centre 1135 Nelson Street Nanaimo, BC V9S 2K4. Live so that when your children think of fairness, caring, and integrity, they think of you. -H. Jackson Brown Jr.
