August 24, 1946 - March 22, 2021
It is with a profound sense of loss, that we announce the peaceful passing of Carolyn Diane (Alder) Chase at home and with her family beside her, in Sackville, New Brunswick.
Left to mourn are her loving husband of fifty years, Eddie Chase, her daughter Shelley and son Bryon Chase, cherished grandchildren Emma, Olivia, Zoe and Rowan, dear sister Elaine (Alder) Schon (Nanaimo), special cousins Mary Bowman (Lantzville) and Myrna Atwood (California).
Also bereaved are Carolyn's many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and life-time friends; who were deeply cherished.
Carolyn was predeceased by her mother, Ella Florence (Noseworthy) Alder, father, Frank Charles Percy Alder, brother Rod and his wife Joan Alder and brother-in-law Don Schon, all of British Columbia.
Born and raised in the community of West Vancouver, Carolyn continued post-secondary education at the Vancouver School of Art, the University of British Columbia, the University of Victoria and Mount Allison University in New Brunswick; achieving a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Education along with many educational and arts certifications.
A beloved educator, her favourite subject was the joy that comes from living with great passion and great love. Carolyn was generous in her ability to love. Gracious and kind, she saw beauty in everything and everyone, an eternal optimist with a passion for the natural world.
An artist to her core; creativity was not a pursuit but a lifelong exhilaration.
With a deep appreciation for Canada, she travelled endlessly with her family. From the edge of Vancouver Island to the cliffs of Cape Spear, Newfoundland; adventure was abound on each epic road-trip and laughter echoed over many miles they journeyed together.
Working often with textiles, fabric arts and painting, Carolyn also loved the piano as well as theatre and dance from an early age. She saw joy in all things. She was our joy in all moments. She was devoted to her family and they to her. Carolyn was deeply loved in her beautiful lifetime.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Campbell's Funeral Home, 89 Bridge Street, Sackville, N.B. (506) 364-8188. In keeping with Carolyn's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for her immediate family will take place during her burial in late Spring.
If so desired, donations in memory of Carolyn may be made to her alumni, Mount Allison University in Sackville, New Brunswick.
