Carol Ann Nielsen (nee Higginson)

It is with great sadness to announce the passing of our beloved mother Carol Ann (Higginson) Nielsen on June 23, 2022.
Carol was born and raised in Nanaimo and lived there her entire life. Carol was an amazing wife, mother, aunt and friend and would be best remembered for the many children she cared for over the years. She had a wonderful circle of friends and enjoyed many social activities.
Carol is survived by daughters Romana Schmidt, Lisa (Schmidt) Krogseth (Jon). Nieces Sherry Nielsen, Vicki Tait, Johanna Brown Clynes, their husbands and children.
Carol is predeceased by husbands Egon Nielsen, Rudy Schmidt. Father Fred Higginson, mother Rene (Higginson) MacKay, sister Bonnie (Higginson) Murphy.
We would like to thank our family and friends for their kindness and support and also thank the staff at Nanaimo Senior Village - 2nd floor long term care unit for their constant devoted care and attention to our mother.
A celebration of Carol's life is planned for
Saturday September 24, 2022 at 2 pm
located at the Neighbourhood Church -
4951 Rutherford Rd, Nanaimo.
