Carlos "Charlie" Reinaldo Schmidt, 79, of Nanaimo, B.C., passed away peacefully on January 29tth, 2018 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital.
Charlie was born January 20, 1939 in Argentina to Reinhold and Maria (Beckel) Schmidt. Charlie owned two Husky gas stations in Nanaimo and later drove a semi-truck before retiring. He loved to work on cars and enjoyed a good Reader's Digest.
He was a proud father and grandfather and never missed watching his family play Lacrosse.
Charlie is survived by his two sons, Brian Neil and William John; his siblings, Isabel Dietelbach, Gerardo Schmidt, Marta Fehr, Ed Schmidt, nieces, nephews, and grandchildren Tyler, Alexis, Gabrielle, Logan, Teigan and Emmett.
