It is with great sadness, and much love, that our family is sharing news of the passing of Cam Thompson, after his short and courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer, at the age of 65.
Cam is predeceased by his Mother, Jane, and Father, Roy. He is remembered by his loving wife, Shelly; daughter Jessica (Ben); son Thomas (Sara); brothers Ian (Marilyn); Allan (Karen); Chris (Ana); Greg (Lori). Uncle Ray and Uncle John.
He will be missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.
Cam was born in New Westminster, and spent his young childhood in Enderby before moving to Nanaimo in 1962 where he spent the rest of his life. He started working at Bill Windecker's garage as a mechanic and gas attendant when he was 14, and continued to work as a mechanic when the garage became Gold Automotive, staying there until it closed its doors in Dec. 2011.
For the next several years, Cam worked at Robinson Rentals until his retirement in December 2020.
At Cam's request, a funeral service will not be held. Please honour Cam by donating to the Canadian Cancer Society - Pancreatic Cancer Research.
Cam's family asks you to remember Cam and continue to share the many stories that gave us so many laughs.
