“Burton Fitch died on July 1, 2007, in his 93nd year. Survived by his sister Phyllis Labow and sister-in-law Isabel Fitch, his loving children: Michael (Roza Wilczynska), Ed (Sharon), Linda (Jay) Silverberg, Jack (Danielle Brunette); his grandchildren: Ruth Ann Fitch (Sebastien Leuzy), Lt Daniel Fitch (Wendy Beach), Rena (Dan) Kaplansky, Leora Fitch, Lauren Silverberg, Dr Noah (Gail) Silverberg, Jonathan Silverberg, Kimberly Brunette-Fitch, and great-grand children: Jessica, Jeffrey, and Justin.
Born in Quebec City, on December 25, 1914, he lived most of his years in Montreal and retired in Nanaimo, in 1984.
Boy Scout, WWII infantry rifle platoon commander (North Nova Scotia Highlanders), successful business man, avid fisherman and skilled outdoorsman, exemplary community leader and tireless volunteer. Bereft since the death of his life’s love Beulah, in May 2005, after 65 years of marriage; now they are together again.”
