It is with heavy hearts and great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Michael Dudeck January 17th, 2020 surrounded by his whole family who did not let him forget for a moment how much he was loved.
Left to cherish his memory is his best friend and life partner, Susan Newman, his mother Laurianne (Andy), his sons Dustyn (Brenna, granddaughter, Flora) and Walker (Kaylie), stepchildren Micheal (Candice) and Brooke (Andrew) his siblings Larry (Dorina), Joanne Lightizer, Janice (Kerry), Allan (Jeannine) and Jacqui. Nieces Erin and Molly and nephew Blair. He was predeceased by his father Michael.
Brian was born in Winnipeg where he found his love of motorcycles and started wrenching on Harleys in his late teens. By the age of 20, he received his Aircraft Mechanic Certification and specialized in DC3's, PBY Catalina's, and CL215 Water Bombers. His work took him across Canada and to California. He was an exceptional mechanic and highly regarded.
In 1987 he left Winnipeg and relocated to Ladysmith BC where he bought a sawmill and his first crane truck. In the 90's he bought and sold houses and got involved with Sprint Car racing. Brian received multiple trophy's for his racing talents with Sprint Car #85. His crane company grew in the late 90's and became what we know today as Dudeck Truck & Crane Ltd. A company that has served and will continue to serve Vancouver Island.
Brian always had a passion for adventure. His favorite activity was fishing and being on the West Coast waters with his loved ones. He also enjoyed snowmobiling, skiing and weekend's away to the mountains.
Over the years Brian has made many friends and associates from Winnipeg to BC and will be remembered for his wit, sense of humor and friendly smile. He had a successful, adventurous and rewarding life and he will be greatly missed.
