Branko Drazic
August 28, 1936- August 16, 2016
With great sadness we announce the passing of Branko on August 16th 2016. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, he was predeceased by his brother Rino (February, 2016).
From Mali Iz, Croatia, Branko arrived in Canada in 1960 where he met the love of his life Ana in Picture Butte, Alberta. His love of the sea brought the couple to Nanaimo in 1964 where he raised his family and had a long and successful career as a carpenter working on commercial projects and building many well built and finely crafted homes throughout the city.
Branko had a passion for fishing and playing bocce and was known for his wonderful home made wine and prosciutto. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. His calm and fun demeanour along with his magnetic personality brought happiness to everyone he met.
Branko will be forever loved and remembered by his wife of 55 years, Ana; daughter Tina (Lorne); and sons John (Cindy); Ed (Maryann); grandchildren, Jen, Matthew, Becky, Kassaundra, Stephanie and Brooke; great grandsons; Joey and Mason.
We would like to send our heartfelt appreciation to BC Ambulance, NRGH ER Department and especially the Palliative Care Unit (Penny) for her gentle and compassionate care. Our thanks also extend to Dr. Sims; Love, and Toom.
Funeral mass to be held at Trinity Catholic Church, Spartan Road Nanaimo , 11am August 25th. To be officiated by Fathers Joseph and Mogomir.
