Bibi Bhagwanti Kaur Manhas
August 1st 1920 - April 5th, 2014
It is with great sadness, that the Manhas family announces the passing of Bibi Bhagwanti Kaur Manhas, affectionately known as “Biji”. Biji passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family in the warmth of her own home on April 5th 2014. She is predeceased by her husband, Jagat Singh Manhas and her granddaughter Rajvir Minhas. She is survived by her four sons and three daughters Ajit (Balwinder), Paul (Surinder), Satnam (Kulwinder), Jeet (Kaajal), Nirmal (Gurdial), Harjit (Avtar) and Pritpal (Ranjit). Biji is survived by eighteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She immigrated to Canada in 1978 from Punjab, India. Biji lived a very active life, right up until her passing. She was loved by everyone in the Indo-Canadian community of Nanaimo for her selfless service, her quick wit and her unquestionable dedication to her family and friends, Biji had many friends in Nanaimo and will be missed by all who have known her.
Her celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 12th, 2014 at 11AM at Yates Funeral Home, located on 1000 Allsbrook Road, Parksville, British Columbia.
