Beverley Ann Nachtigall

July 10, 2019

April 1, 1945 - July 10, 2019
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Beverley Nachtigall (nee Metner) on July 10, 2019 at the Nanaimo Regional Hospital.
Bev was born in Hamilton, Ontario on April 1, 1945. She leaves to mourn her husband of 56 years, Wally, whom she called her best friend, their seven children: Lori Urban (Joseph), Lorne Nachtigall (Kim), Tammy Fasick (Jeff ), Jeff Nachtigall (Amy), Rachel Nachtigall, Tamara Hall (Chris), and Sydney Nachtigall, 10 grandchildren, and 2 Great-grandchildren. She is also survived by 3 sister and 3 brothers, their spouses and children.
Bev was joyfully awaiting the day that her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ would come and take her to heaven. She believed that she belonged to Him from the time of her baptism. Because of her faith, we say good-bye with hearts comforted by the promise of our Lord that we will meet again. Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me will live even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in me will never die." (John 11:25-26)
A funeral service for Bev will be conducted by Rev. Edmund Mielke at Peace Lutheran Church in Moosehorn, Manitoba on Monday, July 22 at 1 pm. A memorial service will be led by Rev. Fraser Coltman at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Nanaimo, 394 Shepherd Ave., on Saturday, August 3 at 1 pm.
The Nachtigall family wish to express their heartfelt thanks to the doctors, nurses and volunteers of the Palliative Care Unit of the Nanaimo Regional Hospital. They are also grateful to the doctors and nurses of the Liver Transplant Unit of the Vancouver General Hospital for their care for Bev.
Thank you to Telford's Funeral Home of Nanaimo and Amason's of Ashern for the coordination of Bev's funeral.
