Betty Hole passed away February 1st, 2018 at Malaspina Gardens Care Home in Nanaimo with family by her side. She is now at peace, her suffering is over. Mom and Dad are dancing again after being apart for nearly sixteen years.
Betty was born in Mold, N.Wales February 28th,1929. Married Dad, Douglas John Hole September 19th,1949. They had their first born (Lyn) in N.Wales then immigrated to Canada April 1955. They traveled across Canada stopping at Vancouver...this would be home! They had four more children over the years.
Betty was a stay at home mom raising five children keeping the household up; painting, gardening, cooking and baking etc.
Her love and talents were singing, knitting, sewing and quilting.
In 1984 Betty and Doug retired to Shawnigan Lake. They loved spending time together boating, fishing, camping and visiting their forever growing family. Monthly luncheons with her cousins in Victoria and surrounding areas.
Mom joined the Shawnigan Lake Quilters Guild where many new friendships blossomed.
After Dad's death she moved to THE COVE into her cozy condo, where many more friendships grew.
Mom devoted her life to our family and will be lovingly remembered by her children; Lyn (Children-Nigel & Jeremy), Susan Horne (Amanda & Tom), Trudy Thomas (Derek & David), Stephen, Gail & husband Richard Johnson, (Brittany & Victoria). Brother Reg Thomas and many cousins. Sister-in-laws of England Sheila Thomas and Ginna Swaffield and many nieces and nephews.
Our family wishes to thank the great staff of Malaspina Gardens Care Home for almost four years of their amazing care and attention to Mom and support for her Family during this difficult time.
