Hurtig, Berthold Richard
June 7, 1928 - August 27, 2012
Burt passed away peacefully, at home with family, at the age of 84.
Burt was born in Berlin and came to Canada in 1957 with his wife and three sons. They lived in Edmonton, Alberta and had two more children there. He then set his sites on Vancouver Island. He came to Nanaimo in 1976 and retired here. He left his mark in Nanaimo with his beautiful tile work, which can still be seen everywhere. He was predeceased by one son, Gary, in 1990 and wife, Ruth in 1992.
He was happily married to wife, Anita Graf for 19 years. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Anita; son, Rainer; daughter, Cornelia (Joe Gogo); grandchildren: Mark, Kara, Richard, Christa, Jason, Kurt, Andrea, Priscilla, Clarissa and Clayton, and great grandchildren.
We greatly appreciate and thank Anita for looking after our Dad (Opa) and making his retirement so special. They both really enjoyed their time together.
