Arthur John
August 1, 1921 - June 26, 2013
John passed away peacefully at the Nanaimo Seniors Village Care Home.
John was born to John MacCauley Wylie & Mary Jane Wylie in Winnipeg, Manitoba. He served in the RCAF during World War II and achieved the rank of Flying Officer. Following his discharge from service, he attended the University of Manitoba and later joined his father in the Construction Industry.
He married Vera Cassan on August 4, 1950 and they moved to Swan River, Manitoba in 1958. The family moved to Calgary in 1966, to Kelowna, B.C. in 1971 and to Nanaimo in 1993.
John will be sadly missed by his wife, Vera; his children: daughter, Jane Tarwitz & husband Karl in Nanaimo; and son, Kevin Wylie & wife Joan Carruthers in Victoria; his grandchildren, Mikaela & Michael Tarwitz and Christopher, Jaimie and Lauren Wylie; as well as his niece, Nardine Park; nephew, Neven Usher; and many other relatives & friends.
The family would like to express their thanks for the care John received while residing at Nanaimo Seniors Village and to Dr. Geoffrey Spry for attending to John’s health in the past years.
There will be no service. The family will celebrate John’s life at a later date.
