Arthur is survived by his brother Helmut (Maria), sister Ida, wife Margaret, sons Michael and Jason (Lynne), grandsons Braiden and Keegan, granddaughter Hailey, and many more cousins, second cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
Arthur was born in Germany and came to Canada in 1960. Margaret and Arthur were married in May 1967 and then later raised a family in Nanaimo.
Arthur had been battling cancer since 2009. Up until November 2017 Arthur was very active in day to day life. At 89 years he could still be found up the ladder cleaning the gutters or dancing with his granddaughter.
Arthur will be missed dearly. The family would like to thank all the staff at NRGH, especially the Palliative Care Unit, for their kindness and compassion during Arthur's final days.
Arthur will be buried at Cedar Valley Memorial Gardens February 2, 2018.
