Anne Jarvie

(nee Fletcher)

Dec. 23, 1929 - April 28, 2016

After a long battle with Alzheimer’s Anne passed away with her husband of 65 years, Bill Jarvie, at her side.

Anne was a true Nanaimoite, her parents were Earl and Gladys Fletcher, her brother Alan Fletcher (deceased) and survived by her sister Doreen (Keith) Ketchen, children Doug (Cindy) , Jan (Ron Berry), Phil (Carole Williams) Grandchildren Christie MacDonald, Brooke LaFleur, Alex Huston and Cole Jarvie,and seven great grandchildren, all living in Nanaimo.

Anne attended school in Nanaimo then went to UBC for her post education. She married, Her best friend and ultimate companion, Bill Jarvie, on May 14, 1951.

They enjoyed a special relationship rarely seen. She enjoyed a large circle of friends, travel, boating, her bridge group, the Beta Sigma Phi, the Gyro ‘girls’, and her long walks around Nanaimo.

Anne volunteered at the Nanaimo Regional General Hospital, Child Development Centre, Canadian Cancer society, and anything else that she was asked to help.

The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at the Nanaimo Seniors Village for their care and compassion during her stay.

There will be a small private family service. In lieu of flowers any donations to the Canadian Alzheimer’s Society or the Nanaimo Travellers Lodge would be appreciated.
