Anne Françoise Littlemore

March 9, 1926 - February 5, 2017

Anne Françoise Littlemore passed away peacefully on February 5, 2017 in Nanaimo, British Columbia. She was 90 years old.

Anne was born March 9, 1926 on a farm near Glenside, Saskatchewan to Edward and Mathilde Cassidy née Tetreault. She attended school at Kintyre and Glenhill near Glenside. Anne married Paul Emile Lord on September 1, 1951 in St. Paul, Alberta. Paul, Anne and their son Vern moved from Alberta to British Columbia. Paul passed away in 1972. Anne met George Littlemore in Nanaimo and remarried on September 25, 1975. After thirty years of marriage, George passed away in 2006.

Anne had several careers over her lifetime. She received her Hairdressing and Beautician Certificate in Kamloops in 1966 at the top of her class. She worked as a receptionist at St. Paul Hospital, a telephone operator for AGT and for BC Tel. She ended her working career in the engineering department for the City of Nanaimo. She also taught ceramic courses for the Nanaimo School Board and Malaspina College. 

Anne enjoyed a full and active life. She was passionate about her involvement in the community and had many interests. She received a plaque commemorating her fifty year membership to the Royal Canadian Legion. She was a devout Catholic and active member of the Catholic Women’s League. Anne travelled for many years. She golfed, curled and bowled. She enjoyed cards and crib at the Moose Hall. She was musical, artistic and crafty. Her family members have all enjoyed something that she made. 

Anne is survived by her son, Vern (Jewel) Lord, four step-children, Janet (Damon) Woodhead, Joanne (Pat) St-Jules, Jayne (Seamus) Power, and Robert (Arlene) Littlemore, twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, her sister, Marie Theroux, and her nieces and nephews. 

Anne’s family wish to express their sincere gratitude to the staff at Nanaimo Seniors Village.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church for those who wish to attend. Donations can be made on behalf of Anne Littlemore to the Alzheimer’s Society.
