September 27, 1921 - December 24, 2020
Anne passed away peacefully on December 24, 2020, with family by her side. She will be missed by her children John, (Debbie) Pat, (Dan) Judy (George) and Janet, (Robert), her nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Anne was born in Inverness, Nova Scotia. Following WWII, she moved to Montreal seeking opportunity. It was there she met the love of her life, Bill and together they raised five children.
Montreal was also the place she endured her greatest heartache when Bill tragically passed away in 1971, followed by the loss of their daughter Anne Marie in 1972.
Anne eventually traveled to BC where she spent many happy years visiting grandchildren.
On Vancouver Island she met longtime companion and dance partner Vincent Hasker. She loved nothing more than laughing over their misadventures, ballroom dancing, and always, always being there for her children (and keeping our freezers stocked with treats).
Anne taught us much about overcoming hardship, finding joy and aging gracefully. At the age of ninety-nine she gave us an impromptu Quickstep lesson in the kitchen - forever the eternal optimist!
She will be in our thoughts always, especially when we raise a toast, hear a strain of dance music, or reminisce about the cruise adventures we shared. She is, and always will be, truly beloved.
