It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anna (Ann) Christina Kovac,, in the comfort of her home with her loving husband Paul, of almost 60 years, by her side.
Born on August 8th, 1937 in Kenaston, Sask., died on August 27th, 2017. She is predeceased by her parents Oliver and Anna Konecny, sister Mary, brothers Joe and Bill. She is survived by her husband, Paul Kovac, her daughter Brenda (Brent), her son Tim, granddaughters Carrie (Curtis) and Laura, great grandson Damien and dear sister
Helen. Ann was a member of the Hearts in Motion Walking Club, (Heart and Stroke Assoc.) and the United Ostomy Assoc. of Canada (UOAC). Ann enjoyed starting her days o with a daily one mile walk and occasionally popping into the walking club morning coffee group to join her many friends to chat and laugh. Her daughter, Brenda, will remember her Mom as always being available for any kind of advice, a positive influence, wonderful phone conversations and being able to laugh about the ups and downs of life.
Her son, Tim, will remember his Mom as having a "do it" attitude and always looking at the bright side of things. Paul and family would not have been able to get through Ann's final journey without the help of her special friends: Gertrude, Stella and Myrna. To say the least, Ann's outgoing personality and smile will surely be missed by many friends and family.
Celebration of Life will take place at the Sands Funeral Home, 1 Newcastle Ave., Nanaimo, B.C. on September 9th, 2017 between the hours of 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memoriam to the Canadian Cancer Society, Heart & Stroke Assoc. or the charity of your choice.
