THOMAS, Ann (Martinson)

Born August 27, 1909 in Ruddell, Saskatchewan - went from our loving arms to God’s on October 24, 2004 at home in Parksville, BC. Anne was an avid ice skater and enjoyed a good game of hockey in her younger years. She became a teacher in 1927 in Saskatchewan and dedicated her life to teaching in Qualicum Beach and Nanaimo until her retirement in 1969. She ended her teaching career as the Music Teacher in Nanaimo. She is a life member of the Teacher’s Association. She moved to Comox and married Lawrence in January of 1940. Anne’s passion in life was learning, teaching and family. During her quiet moments in life, she could always be found in the company of dogs and/or cats. She loved her animals. She is predeceased by Baby Lorraine in 1941 and her husband Lawrence in 1998. She is survived and lovingly remembered by David (Ann) Thomas, Parksville, BC; Lenore Wicklund, Victoria, BC; John (Linda) Thomas, Delta BC; Robert (Lori) Thomas, Nanaimo, BC; brother Edward Martinson, Olds, Alberta; 7 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews. At her request she will be cremated and there will be no service. Private interment of her ashes will be with her parents’ Nanaimo Cemetery. Arrangements were entrusted to Yates Funeral Home.
