July 18, 1933 - October 11, 2018
Alvin was born in Borden, Sask. and moved to Abbotsford in 1943.

He attended Upper Sumas School until grade 8, two years at Bible School and then left school to help his father on the farm. He worked for the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Assoc. until he resumed his education at Vancouver City College to complete High School and then to U.B.C. for B.A. and M.S.W. degrees. In 1973 he married Luella Wiebe from Vancouver and returned to his roots in Abbotsford in 1975. He worked for the Federal Corrections Service: at the Psychiatric Centre, the Matsqui Institution and with the Parole Service. In 1981 he took early retirement and worked part-time at Pacific Life Counselling Services, a mediation service, and M.C.C. until Luella was ready to join him for some travelling.

He slipped peacefully into his eternal home after a lengthy struggle with his health. Thank you to some very special people at Christine Morrison Hospice. He was well cared for in his final 2 weeks.

His wife Luella, sons Matthew and Victor; grandchildren Tyrone, Terrance, and Emily; sister Norma (Jim) Probert; nieces and nephews will miss him greatly.

He took direction and support for his life from Jesus whom he served. The M.B. church at Central Heights was his church home and the place where his memorial will be held Friday, November 2 at 1 pm, 1661 McCallum Road, Abbotsford.
