Alma passed away at home in Nanaimo on October 11, 2016 at the age of 90. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry; sister, Margaret; brother, Gordon; and parents, Henry and Ruby. She is survived by daughter, Bev; son-in-law, Dick; granddaughters, Shannon and Leanne; and great-granddaughter, Aria. Also mourning her loss are sisters, Anne and Joyce, and their families. Alma was born in Kirkwall, Scotland and celebrated her first birthday on the voyage bringing the family to Canada. They settled in Alberta, then moved to Nanaimo in the late 1940’s. She met Harry in Ocean Falls, BC, where they lived until moving to Mackenzie and subsequently to Port Alberni, BC. After Harry passed away, Alma returned to Nanaimo to be closer to family. Memorial service has taken place.
