We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Albert Cootes, he passed away peacefully at the age of 91 in Nanaimo B.C. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Norene. His son Rod (Tracy) and his grandchildren Amanda (Connor), Anders and Sierra.
Albert was born in Turtleford, Saskatchewan spending most of his life in Lantzville, B.C.
Albert was an avid commercial fisherman, fishing with his son for 43 years. He enjoyed playing pool, working on his boat, puttering around in the yard and visits with his family and friends.
Albert will be cremated and his ashes will be spread at sea.
At Albert's request there will be no memorial service.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to CNIB (Canadian National Institute for the Blind).
