It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father Albert Seriani on November 20, 2020, at the age of 94. Albert leaves behind his best friend and partner Jill (Stannard) Albert's 5 children Alan (Karen) Gary (Cathie) Carolyn (Gary) Donna (Raymond) Sharlene (Lamont). His grandchildren Dean, Tony, Candis, Brett, Anthony, Jelisa, Derrien, Jerrica, Elijah and Zoey, 10 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild.
He also leaves behind an extended family, Jill's children Rick Rispin (Linda) Mike Rispin, Kathleen Johnson (Tom) grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Albert was born into a "big Italian family" in Nordegg, Alberta his parents Caterine and Fedele moved their family to Nanaimo in 1928.
This is where Albert made a wonderful fulfilled life he served in the Army reserves worked in a few sawmills on tugboats and he worked as a high rigger logger with Comox and Northwest Bay Logging. He was also a Golden Glove Boxer.
Albert's greatest achievement was his 31 year career as a firefighter from 1955 until 1986 when he retired as a Captain. Ab's passion and dedication was the pipes and drums he served with 5 Pipe Bands as a side drummer and Pipe Major until the day he left us.
Albert was a Life member of the Branch 10 Royal Canadian Legion and long time member of the Lotus Gang and the Old Ashes.
Albert loved to travel and heading south with Jill in the motorhome. He enjoyed spending time and making memories with his family at our cabin at Pipers Lagoon and many camping trips.
Ab loved the outdoors camping, fishing and hunting. Most of all he loved his family and spending time with all of us.
We will miss the sound of his voice the ring of laughter his unconditional love, he was the pillar of strength and kept us laughing with his witty humour. Albert will be sadly missed to anyone that had the pleasure of meeting him.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to your local Royal Canadian Legion.
There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date when the Covid 19 restrictions are lifted.
