August 4, 1938 - August 17, 2020
Al left his adventure on earth August 17, 2020.
He was born on a farm in Pouce Coupe, BC. He had 4 sisters, 1 brother and later a half sister joined them. He also had many nieces, nephews, and special friends.
Al left the farm early facing many adventures and challenges along the way. It is said "You can take the boy out of the north, but not the north out of the boy". He spoke of the North and always wanted to return for visits, but his handicaps were too great for him to do so.
He moved to the Lower Mainland and married Pat. He worked as a projectionist in a variety of theaters as well as other jobs. In 1972, they bought a hobby farm in East Wellington where they enjoyed their variety of animals before retiring to Nanaimo.
He was known to stop and check out the Cassidy Hotel to see if any of his friends were there!!
Al was predeceased by wife Pat and granddaughter Kim. He is survived by his son Darryl, grandson Derrick, great-grandchildren Jaden and Logan, brother Gordon (Carol), half sister Hazel (Patti), and partner Connie.
He will be remembered always for his infectious laugh and humorous ways.
