May 30, 1914 - Feb 7, 2018
Born just before the beginning of WWI,  Agnes led a long and active life.

She began her working career as a bookkeeper with the Department of National Defence, Royal Canadian Engineers, and then with the Wartime Prices and Trade Board. Following WWII, she worked at WH Malkins and retired in 1979 from Hudson's Bay Wholesale.  She was a talented musician accomplished on the organ, piano, and accordian.

She shared  her talents with many groups, including the  Soldiers' and Airmen's Association, local hospitals, and churches as well as social events with family and friends.

Into her 90's, Agnes played regularly at retirement homes in Nanaimo. She sang alto in her church choir, and was Sunday School secretary  for over 60 years. Her delicious Scottish scones were popular with family and friends.

At the age of 99 she moved from Nanaimo to Victoria to be closer to her surrogate daughters, Marlene (Don) Recchi and Beverley (Ron) Pusey. She was thankful for her Nanaimo friends who kept in touch regularly through cards, letters, and visits.

Agnes passed away in Victoria on February 7, 2018, at Hart House Retirement Residence.

She was predeceased by her sister, Thomasene, and brother, James.

A memorial service will take place at 1:00 pm on Friday, February 16, 2018, at Generations Church, 1300 Princess Royal Avenue, Nanaimo, preceded by a private burial.
