Agnes May Roberts

Our dear Mom, Nanny, sister and Auntie Tootsie, Agnes May Roberts, passed away peacefully March 15th, 2013, at Trillium Lodge in Parksville, B.C., after a full and cherished life. Agnes was born in Five Acres, Nanaimo BC August 21, 1920. Her parents were Fred and Agnes Davidson.

She was closely involved with her family and friends and will be tenderly remembered by all who knew her. Tootsie was the heart of our family. She was kept busy raising her 5 children, lots of family events and socializing with friends and neighbours. Many of those friends still visited her when she moved to Trillium Lodge in 2010.

Agnes worked at Central Drug Store in Nanaimo, BC for many years. She did some traveling - Hawaii, England, Switzerland, New York. She loved helping with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She excelled in the art of making beautiful porcelain dolls. Her home was decorated with dolls, big and small. Agnes was an amazing lady and thrived on being active, she worked for several years at Woodgrove Manor, in their activities department, until her health stopped her when she was 84.

Agnes is predeceased by her first husband, Ed Roberts in 1963; second husband, Doug Wilson in 1979; son, Wayne Roberts in 1997; daughter-in-law, Doris Roberts in 2003; and daughter, Brenda Kearns in 2005. She leaves behind her remaining children: Kent, Karen, Craig and their families; Wayne and Brenda’s families; her brothers: Arthur, Gary and Norman and their families; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, other family and friends.

Agnes will be interred, at a private family ceremony, in Cedars Valley Memorial Gardens beside her husband Ed on March 23, 2013. In lieu of flowers, family are requesting donations be made to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation.
