HOUSEGO, Agnes
November 13, 1940 - May 19, 2005. Agnes Housego passed away peacefully on May 19, 2005 at Nanaimo Regional General Hospital surrounded by her family she so dearly loved. She was predeceased by her mother and father, Gus and Helen Dehr and her brothers Art and Wilfert Dehr. Agnes will be forever in the hearts and memories of her husband Donald, three children, Bonnie (Laurence) Read, Dawn (Ian) Redden and Stewart (Nicole) Housego. Grandma will also be sadly missed by her grandchildren, Aaron, Darla, Cody, Brianne and Adrian. Agnes was the fifth of 10 children born to Gus and Helen and was raised on the family farm near Biggar, Saskatchewan. She moved with Don and her young family to Vancouver Island in 1963. Many vacations were spent traveling to the prairies for family reunions. Agnes' love of her family was the focus of her life and her favorite times were spent with family and friends. She also took special pride in her garden, particularly as it was enjoyed by residents of the Malaspina Lodge on their walks. There will be a private family gathering to celebrate her life. If desired, in lieu of flowers, Agnes' wish was that donations be made to Canuck Place Children’s Hospice 1690 Matthews Avenue, Vancouver, B.C. V6J 2T2 or by phone at 1-877-882-2288. The family wishes to extend their thanks to Agnes' dear friends, Doug and Lorraine Brown, the Palliative Care Unit at the Nanaimo Hospital and Dr. Spry for their care in making Agnes' last days peaceful and comfortable.
