A new residents’ committee for the rural region between Nanaimo  and Ladysmith has organized meetings with provincial and regional experts to discuss water quality and supply challenges.

The new Residents Committee on Water, working with the Mid Island Sustainability and Stewardship Initiative, expect to hear about growth and development planning that will incorporate residents’ needs for a secure water supply, with that of regional interests.

Meetings are planned for Tuesday (May 17) and June 21 at 7 p.m. at the Cedar Heritage Centre.

Next week’s meeting will feature a presentation and Q&A session with the RDN’s managers for water and regional growth.
