UPDATE: Water main break repaired on Sixth Street in Nanaimo

UPDATE: The water main break has been repaired and the water has been turned back on in the surrounding neighbourhood, noted the City of Nanaimo in a social media post.

Crews were in the process of cleaning up and re-opening Sixth Street.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: City workers in Nanaimo are dealing with a water main break in Harewood.

The rupture happened on Sixth Street between Winchester Avenue and Bruce Avenue at about 4 p.m. Friday, March 25. Sixth Street will be closed until further notice and water service to residents in the immediate vicinity will be temporarily affected.

Bruce Avenue and Winchester Avenue are both open for vehicle traffic.

City crews are on site performing repairs and the City of Nanaimo asks that people use alternate routes.
