Watch for wildlife in Nanaimo parks

NANAIMO – The city reminds residents to be on the lookout for deer on roads and wildlife in parks this spring.

The city is reminding residents to watch for wildlife in Nanaimo’s parks and trails this spring.

A press release says spring is busy with wildlife activity, from deer fawning to bears and their young seeking food to restore fat reserves that were depleted over winter.

Those who encounter cougars or bears in parks are asked to report sightings at 250-758-5222 or 250-756-5200. Drivers are reminded to watch for deers on road, especially during dusk and at night.
