Medical marijuana grower Tilray has sparked up Nanaimo Heritage Days celebrations by sponsoring the fireworks show.
This year’s fireworks program is a pyro-musical, with the music score and commentary broadcast by Island Radio, performed by Fireworks Spectaculars, the company hired for Nanaimo’s previous May long weekend celebrations.
Greg Engel, Tilray chief executive officer, said being corporate sponsor for the fireworks is the company’s show of support for the community.
Heritage Days runs May 16-17 in downtown Nanaimo with the fireworks slated for May 16.
