A ladder found behind a Nanaimo property was used in a home break-in earlier this month.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, the unsolved crime happened sometime between 11:30 a.m. Nov. 2 and 12:30 a.m. Nov. 3 on Morey Road in Nanaimo’s Quarterway neighbourhood.

“It appears the suspect used a step ladder found behind the property to access the second level of the home,” the press release notes.

The thief rummaged through drawers and stole a laptop and jewelry, but may have left behind his or her LG flip phone.
