Thief in Nanaimo steals surfboard from the back of surfer’s pickup truck

Incident happened last week on Princess Royal Avenue

A thief allegedly stole a surfboard out of the back of a pickup truck in Nanaimo and is presumably now trying to catch a wave.

Nanaimo RCMP issued a press release this past week asking for the public’s help in locating a stolen surfboard. The theft occurred early Monday, Oct. 24, at a fast food restaurant parking lot on Princess Royal Avenue.

The surfboard is described as a seven-feet, dark green Softech roller, with three fins and a white strip with the brand name on it. The board also had a neon yellow leash attached.

Anyone with information about this theft or whereabouts of the surfboard is asked to call the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-37959.
