SUV rolls over in crash in north Nanaimo

Accident happened on Rutherford Road on Wednesday afternoon

Two sport-utility vehicles collided and one of them rolled over in an accident in north Nanaimo today.

A Ford Explorer and a Nissan Rogue crashed Wednesday at 3:20 p.m. on Rutherford Road near Brookwood Drive. Both vehicles were in the northbound lanes, with the Ford upside-down.

Both northbound lanes of Rutherford were closed for almost an hour while crews cleared the scene.

Emergency personnel at the scene wouldn’t provide any further information about the incident, so it isn’t known if anyone was hurt in the crash.
