The results are in for the best entries into the 147th annual Empire Days Parade.

Best Commercial Float – WestJet; runner-up: Island Savings.

Best Non-commercial Float – Cowichan Lake’s Lady of the Lake; runners-up: Colliery Dams Preservation Society and Loyal Nanaimo Bathtub Society.

Best Classic Car – Shrine Club; runners-up: Old English Car Club and Classic Car.

Best Motorized Car – Eastern Star Jobs Daughters; runner-up: Mid Island Vintage Tractors.

Best Animal Presentation – Nanaimo Kennel Club; runner-up: St. John Ambulance Therapy Dogs.

Best Cultural Presentation – Nanaimo Filipino Canadian Association; runner-up: Vancouver Island Visagon Association.

Best Children’s Presentation – Candy Crushers Junior Roller Derby.

Best Service Club – Nanaimo Search and Rescue.

Best Comic – Auntie Bobbie; runner-up: Balloon Man.

Best Military Band – Royal Canadian Sea Cadet Corps Amphion.

High School Marching Band – Burnaby North Vikings marching band; runner-up: Kentlake High School marching band.

Best Community Marching Band – Nanaimo Concert Band.

Best Pipe Band – Pacific Gael Pipe Band.

Best Drill Team – B.C. Provincial Honour Guard.
