Sign-up starts soon for City of Nanaimo summer recreation programs

Registration for summer activities begins online, by phone and in person starting May 5

Nanaimo residents can start planning their summer by registering for the city’s summer recreation programs.

Nanaimo’s Department of Parks, Recreation and Culture programs and activities include summer day camps, adult outdoor courses plus swimming and skating lessons.

There are free activities too with the playground program, Golden Bucket search and swimming at Westwood Lake Park where lifeguards will be on duty.

Program registration starts May 5, but residents can view the summer activity guide online starting Friday, April 30, or pick up a copy of the guide at Bowen Park activity centre, Beban Park social centre, Oliver Woods Community Centre or Nanaimo Aquatic Centre, starting Monday, May 3.

People can set up an account with Nanaimo Parks, Recreation and Culture and register online at http://recreation.nanaimo.ca, by calling 250-756-5200 or in person at Bowen Park , Oliver Woods or at NAC.
