Nanaimo Mounties are looking for witnesses to a hit-and-run at the Mid-Island Co-Op gas bar at Brooks Landing.
The incident happened Thursday at about 7:20 p.m. when an 81-year-old Nanaimo man was knocked to the ground by a vehicle backing up.
The vehicle – a large, red four-door sedan with a sunroof, possibly a Mercedes or BMW – then left the scene.
The victim suffered scrapes to his head and one hand and was not taken to hospital.
