UPDATE: Senior, missing after 911 calls made from cellphone in Nanaimo, has been found

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP report the 74-year-old man has been located safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a missing senior after numerous 911 calls were made from his cellphone yesterday.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, Perry Blois, 74, is considered missing. Investigators traced calls made from his cellphone Tuesday, Jan. 18, to an area in downtown Nanaimo, but police were not able to locate him.

RCMP say Blois has been recently residing in Victoria, but did live in Nanaimo as of two years ago. He is not known to have family or friends in the immediate area.

Blois has speech and hearing impairments. He is 6-foot-1, 180 pounds, and has grey hair and hazel-coloured eyes.

Anyone with information about his whereabouts is asked to call Nanaimo RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-754-2345, citing file No. 2022-1745.
