A fire in the room of a home on Sechelt Drive Thursday has been deemed suspicious.
Firefighters responded to the alarm shortly before 11 p.m., but discovered the homeowner had already doused the fire, which ignited in an attached garage that had been converted into a suite.
Firefighters ensured the fire was out and cleared smoke from the building before turning the scene over for investigation by fire prevention officers, which determined the cause was suspicious and turned the case over to the RCMP.
Residents were allowed to return to the primary residence, as the fire was contained to the suite.
