UPDATE: Woman who went missing at Departure Bay ferry terminal found safe

Nanaimo Search and Rescue was called to help find 66-year-old woman

UPDATE: Nanaimo RCMP say the woman reported missing earlier today, Aug. 8, has been located safe and sound.

PREVIOUSLY POSTED: The Nanaimo RCMP and Nanaimo Search and Rescue are working together on a search for a missing 66-year-old woman who has medical issues.

According to a Nanaimo RCMP press release, Celine Campton was reported missing at approximately 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 8, after she wandered off from the parking lot at B.C. Ferries’ Departure Bay terminal.

She was waiting to board the 10:05 a.m. sailing to Vancouver with her husband when she disappeared. An extensive search of the immediate area proved negative. Nanaimo Search and Rescue has been called in and is staging in the area.

Campton is 5-foot-8, 120 pounds. Anyone who sees her or has information on her whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Nanaimo RCMP non-emergency line at 250-754-2345 and quote file No. 2022-27396.
